ABOUT FMC

The founder of FMC, Georgina Heffernan, has over 10 years experience in the fashion business having worked as a Fashion Stylist and Journalist for some of Ireland's top magazines, TV stations and newspapers. She established FMC after recognising a need in the Irish market for intensive Fashion Styling, Fashion Journalism and Style Confidence courses.

Georgina originally studied Communications at Pierce College, Crumlin, and then took a diploma in journalism at UCD. In 2001 she landed the job of Fashion Editor of Ireland’s best-selling U magazine, where she remained for two years. Georgina naturally moved into TV and presented slots for popular fashion shows such as Off the Rails and Open house. In 2003 she secured the high profile position of Deputy Editor at Irish Tatler, Ireland's leading fashion magazine. This led to close contact with fashion giants Diane von Furstenberg, Matthew Williamson, Lulu Guinness, Paris Hilton and various supermodels such as Karolina Kurkova and Kate Moss.

Eager to produce articles for a wider audience, Georgina became Style Editor of the top-selling Irish Daily Mail in 2005. Over four years, she enjoyed a variety of challenges, designing pages for the glossy weekend Style magazine and writing in-depth articles as a Senior Features Writer for the newspaper. Georgina has also styled advertising campaigns for the likes of Dylon and Nike amongst others, as well as producing fashion shows for household names such as Lee jeans and styling pop star Macy Grey.

Now - Georgina shares her unique experience at FMC’s intensive and fun filled fashion courses. Each course features guest speakers who share their knowledge, tips and advice on breaking into the exciting world of fashion media. These remarkable speakers will impart their great wisdom; delivered with candour and humour in ways only they know how. Each seminar is filled with news, insider information and contacts, and our participants leave with a direction on where to go and what to do next.

Attendees are inspired, energized and encouraged to follow their dreams.

General sessions will be scheduled for the end of the day. This will include audience participation and will be a half-hour “ask-the-expert” session where the floor will be open for questions and concerns for the fashion professionals of the day.
